UC Berkeley to Host Online Dialogue Webinar

created Apr 17, 2020 10:36 AM

As a part of a UC Berkeley PD Provider Network's series of free webinars to support teachers during this crisis, Devin Hess and Phyllis Goldsmith from the UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project, will be hosting a webinar on Monday, April 20th at 4 pm.

Hess and Goldsmith will model the powerful Headings and Highlights literacy strategy that so many teachers have successfully employed in their classrooms. The strategy, useful in all disciplines, encourages academic conversations as students look for main ideas and supporting details in texts. In this revised version, we will emphasize techniques to encourage student online dialogue and collaboration - a challenge for teachers now working in the digital space due to the shutdown.
